Christmas comes alive: the events of the second weekend of December in the OltreLario region

1. Traveling nativity scene

• • Date: Friday, December 13, 8:30 pm
  • Location: Departure from Radio Mater at 1 XXV April Street
  • Description: All the children of the oratory will be busy carrying the Nativity of Jesus through the streets of Albavilla. At the end, hot chocolate, mulled wine and panettone offered by the oratory.

2. Concert "Ancient Rhythms"

• Date: Friday, December 13, 9 p.m.
• Location: Church of San Giorgio in Corneno in Eupilio, Piazza San Giorgio 1
• Description: Concert for organ and bagpipes by the United Eupilio Associaizone. 

3. Waiting for Christmas

• Date: Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.
• Location: Intesa San Paolo parking lot via XXV Aprile Erba - in case of bad weather it will be held under the arcades of via XXV Aprile
• Description: Christmas workshop in the morning, themed games and craft market throughout the day organized by Preschool Early Childhood Center A. Stanga.

4. The alleys of Santa Claus

• Date: Saturday, December 14 from noon to 9 p.m.
• Location: Lemna of Faggeto Lario
• Description: At "The Alleys of Santa Claus" you can walk among the creations of hobbyists and artisans looking for Christmas gifts, taste local street food, enjoy a glass of wine or warm yourself with mulled wine around the fires. Good music throughout the day with an appetizer and dinner in the square. 

5. Traveling Nativity Scene "On the Road to Bethlehem"

• Date: Saturday, December 14, 1:45 p.m.
• Location: Meet at the Arcellazzi Preschool in Canzo 
• Description: The boys and girls of Arcellazzi Preschool invite you to participate in the living nativity scene with a procession through the streets of Canzo. The musicians of "Piva piva" from Valbrona will accompany you to the garden of Villa Meda where the performance will take place. At the end panettone and mulled wine offered by the Canzo Alpine Group.

6. Christmas village on the farm

• Date: Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m.
• Location: Poppi Farm via per la Madonnina in Barni
• Description: buggy ride with pony. Christmas maze with sensory trail. Letter for Santa and Christmas decorations creations. Snack included.
• Cost: Saturday from 5 to 10 without parental presence 25 euros; Sunday from 2 to 10 with parental presence 20 euros.

7. Blevio LAB.

• Date: Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Location: old pedestrian village of Blevio
• Description: The two-day Arts and Crafts route begins in the hamlet of Sopravilla, and along the Strada Regia continues to Sorto and Mezzovico, as per the attached map. Extending the walk to Meggianico hamlet No. 17 will lead to Santa's House, where children can deliver their letters directly to Santa Claus every Saturday! In Sopravilla Piazza del Berìn, promoted by Pro Loco Blevio, and in Mezzovico, by Mutuo Soccorso femminile, two refreshment points with aperitifs, mulled wine, soft drinks, hot cuddles and excellent snacks!

8. NoiVoiLoro Gospel Singers

• Description: Christmas atmosphere with singing show. 

9. Children's reading "Christmas for Serious"

• Date: Saturday, December 14, 4 p.m.
• Place: Council Hall of Valbrona
• Description: Animated reading with writer Stefano Motta and cartoonist Giovanni Beduschi as part of the cultural review "A valley...of books" of the Municipality of Valbrona. 

10. Puppet show "Santa Claus at the Elf Village."

• Location: Palestrina di Magreglio on Nicola Romeo Street
• Description: Free admission puppet show and final snack provided by the "Demes una man" association.

11. Lighting of the BruNatal crib.

• Date: Saturday, December 14, 4:30 p.m.
• Location:St. Maurice Churchon Via Giacomo Scalini in Brunate
• Description: Alpine Choir performance and appetizer provided by on-site caterers. 

12. Agri Christmas Tree

• Date: Saturday, December 14 from 17
• Location: Alpe di Megna in Asso
• Description: Gathering of tractors to make a huge agricultural Christmas tree. Placement of tractors from 5 pm. From 6 pm onwards rich apericena around the bonfire. Mulled wine. Video and photo areas with drone.

13. Theatrical performance "Pipe Sonata" 

• Date: Saturday, December 14, 9 p.m.
• Place: Social Theater of Canzo
• Description: Pipe Sonata is a contemporary circus show that transforms tools and objects into musical instruments through creativity and technology. With live music ranging from Bach to the Rolling Stones, it weaves melodies, acrobatics, and symbols of growing up as an adolescent into a crescendo of song, dance, and tests of courage, culminating in a rite of passage to adult life.

14. BruNatal Markets.

• Date: Sunday, December 15, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Location: Franceschini Park in Brunate
• Description: Christmas markets and open kitchen in collaboration with ProBrunate. 

15. Santa RUN - The Santa Race.

• Date: Sunday, December 15, 10 a.m.
• Meeting place: Villa Garampelli in Canzo from 9 a.m. for registration and kit collection
• Description: 3-, 7- and 12-kilometer routes with Santa-inspired hat and T-shirt. Proceeds from the event will be donated to: Diversa Mente Atletici - Villa Beretta. It will be possible to participate solo or in groups.

• Meeting place: Tensostructure of the municipal squares in Lezzeno
• Description: Area hobbyists present their creations for the "A Thought for Christmas" contest.
  10 a.m. Hobby market.
  1:30 p.m. Creative workshop for children and youth with Micheline.
  2 p.m.30 Santa's elves will award prizes to the winners of the "A thought for Christmas" contest.
  3 p.m. Arrival of Santa Claus to whom children can deliver their letters.
  4 p.m. Snack with hot chocolate for everyone.
  The Lezzeno music corps will brighten the day.

• Description: Afternoon with entertainment, creative workshop and party for all by Tic Tac Association. Followed by snack.

• Description: We will wait for Santa Claus to snack and deliver our little letter to him.
