Introducing "Flora in your pocket!"

OltreLario is launching a new adventure designed for those who love to discover, observe, and marvel. With the interactive "Flora in Tasca!" passport, you can become an official OltreLario Explorer and embark on a journey among the flowers, plants, and fruits of the region.

Flowers to look for, stories to read together

The Flora in Tasca! passport is linked to articles on the OltreLario blog, where every flower found becomes an opportunity to discover a story.

These stories are designed to be read together, perhaps in the evening or after a walk, transforming discovery into a moment of listening and sharing between parents and children.

“A child learns to read for the first time when they are picked up and a story is read to them” – Maryanne Wolf

The stories we hear as children stay with us for a long time: along with the words, we remember the emotions, the images, and the voices of those who read to us. Reading aloud helps children discover new words, stimulates curiosity, and supports the development of thinking, all while strengthening the bond with those who read alongside them.

Learning about flowers, with respect

"Anyway, I put my nine flowers under my pillow. They were a buttercup, a broom, a caglio, a bellflower, a daisy, a pimpinella, a sunflower, and two others whose names I don't know."
This is what little Lisa says in Astrid Lindgren's book, The Bullerby Book.

Flora in tasca! was also created with this spirit in mind: to help children learn about the biodiversity of the Triangolo Lariano a simple and respectful way.

Flowers are not picked: they are sought out, observed, photographed, and colored. They are encountered in season, learning—thanks in part to blog articles—to recognize their life cycle and know when to look up or down to spot them. Every flower can be smelled, linked to a memory, or remembered precisely because of its lack of scent.

It is also a journey into the language of the region: many flowers have dialect names, which often differ from town to town, even just a few kilometers apart.

How does the "Flora in Tasca!" passport work?

It all starts with a simple questionnaire: it's not just a form to fill out, but the first step toward unlocking an official mission.

Once you have obtained your passport, the challenge will be to find at least 10 flowers or fruits, recognize them, and collect them by drawing them like true explorers.

Completing the mission is not only fun, but also convenient: those who complete the passport receive concrete advantages, with discounts and benefits on products and experiences at the OltreLario network's Punti Fiamma locations, listed on the Network page of the website.

Have you completed your passport? Go to the Network page, click on the municipalities in the "Who lives and works in the area" section, and discover the participating local operators. In the information sheet, under the heading Punto Fiamma, you will find details of the discount available to you. After validation, your stamped passport will be returned to you: a souvenir to keep, along with the experience you have enjoyed.
