Walking in the village of Magreglio

Magreglio is an ideal place for cycling enthusiasts. In fact, the town is famous for the steep climb to the Ghisallo Pass!

From here starts the 6-km loop trail, intended for families, with a positive elevation gain of 305 m and a maximum altitude of 990 m asl.
It will be an itinerary rich in history, nature and cycling!
From the Madonna del Ghisallo sanctuary you will admire the panoramic view from the Belvedere Romeo: the Grigna with its 2409 m height frames the Lecco branch of Lake Como. You can discover stalagmite caves of the Bocc di Pegur, visit the Madonna del Ghisallo Cycling Museum and see the making of the wooden bicycle rim!

The path you will take starts from the Ghisallo Pass and is called "dei vitt," immersed in a forest of birch and oak trees, in the direction of Piano Rancio.
Then you will change scenery and walk on wooden footbridges and bridges immersed in a chestnut grove. From here you will arrive at the source of the Lambro: the Menaresta. On the way you will see large erratic boulders transported by the last glaciation from Val Masino, Val Chiavenna and Val Malenco. These finds are natural monuments of Regione Lombardia and are called: Pietra Luna, Pietra Lentina and Pietra Sole.
You will have arrived at one of the most anticipated moments: The picnic at the top!

On the way down you will encounter some illustrative panels of Eugenio Spreafico's path through the village and the surrounding natural areas of Magreglio. In the oldest part of the village, among alleys and courtyards, you will see the villa of Eng. Romeo where, in the early twentieth century, the dream of Alfa Romeo was born!
